Site-Driven Winemaking

Additional Varietals

Our home is a special site in itself – and though the Ram’s Gate Estate is ideally suited for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, these vineyards also produce grapes for Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and Rhône varieties which beautifully reflect our signature terroir.

Along with our vision to capture individual site signatures across Sonoma and Carneros, we have sought out specific vineyards growing classic California varietals such as Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Our Chardonnay

For our winemaking team, crafting Chardonnay is a continuous reminder of the grape’s ability to astonish and delight. With vineyard sources spanning across the Russian River Valley, the Sonoma Coast and Carneros, these wines showcase the great conductor of terroir in all its forms. After the grapes arrive on our crushpad, a rigorous sorting process follows, and upon completing fermentation, the wines spend eleven months in French oak, ranging from one-third to two-thirds new.

Our Pinot Noir

From cool Carneros to the northern reaches of the Russian River Valley, the unique sites from which we source Pinot Noir offer an end-to-end spectrum of the grape’s potential. It’s an honor to work with inspiring growers and beautiful fruit, and when the pinecone-shaped clusters arrive each harvest, our team is committed to oversee fermentation and barrel aging with as much care as the fruit receives in the vineyard.
