Tasting Notes
From our beloved home vines that surround the Ram’s Gate winery and tasting room, the 2016 starts with a complex nose of dark cocoa nib, tobacco leaf and rosewood bark. The wine carries a playful structure with medium-grained tannins and developing layers of red- and black-fruit notes that expand through the finish with hints of spice and flint. The acid is sharp, balanced and precise throughout, as we’d expect from our proximity to the cool San Pablo Bay.
